Archies March of Dimes One

This is the first of a set of cards I've done for another March of Dimes fund raiser. This is the third time I've done one of these, however, these are a bit different. Like the previous preprinted March of Dimes cards, the paperstock is slick and hard to work on (coloring it was a nightmare--forgive me for the bad coloring job). But unlike the previous ones, these are put out not just by March of Dimes but also have the Archie Comics logo on them--they are officially approved by Archie Comics. They decided to partner with the March of Dimes to do this particular fundraiser. I'm not the only artist who participated--there were several others.

I will have to find the link to how these cards are being distributed and put it in my journal. It's my understanding that packs of these (each sheet will be cut into eight separate cards) will be sold to both collectors and comic shop dealers (who will then resell them). Some may show up on Ebay.

This particular set--one of four sheets I did--were signed by the singer Ron Dante, who did the singing voice of Archie in the sixties when they had their tv show. He was not the voice actor for Archie, only the singing voice. He also released other songs during that time. I was picked exclusively to do these.

One more comment about them--on this sheet, I've done two "puzzle" pieces--although they'll be cut apart, they look best when they are matched up like a puzzle. I did more than one of these. Also, the written words are part of the Archie TV show's intro song--"Everything's Archie."
