Made it to another year.  Wonder what this one holds?  Hopefully some good things.  I have hopes to do some work in collaboration with a friend, to see what we can create.  Will see if any of it can be posted here--it's kind of collage-ish.

On Friday, May 6th, my mother passed away.  She was almost 80 years old.  She had an ongoing battle with diabetes, congestive heart failure, rheumatoid arthritis and Alzheimer's, but it was a cancerous tumor in her abdomen that finally took her.  I was with her when she died.  Fortunately, she was a strong Christian, so I have no doubts she is now at home with the Lord.  Right now I am in the process of taking care of her estate.  And, of course, I am grieving, although not deeply yet; I expect it will hit me with more force later on.  Also, due to her 15 year battle with Alzheimer's, I've been grieving her going for a long time; she's not be

With regards to my Elysium Dreams story, I had hit a log jam in the script, and hadn't been able to get past it.  No matter how I tried, I just couldn't get around a certain scene.  It wouldn't write itself, no matter how many times I'd dwell on it and try to push at it.  However, just recently, my brain managed to dynamite the log jam, and I've pushed on through.  In some respects I've kind of "kicked the can down the road"--the scene that was giving me fits will have to come later--but in other respects I think I've made the story more interesting than it was.  The way I had the script going, it was slowing down and beginning to drag.  In m
